You could have said yes, instead of no.
You could have turned left, instead of right.
You could have offered to help that person in the street, instead of looking away.
You could have returned that call, instead of deleting it from the missed calls list.
You could have asked that extra question, the one that would have unlocked the key to the conversation.
You could have listened, really listened, instead of thinking about what you wanted to say next.
You could have learned from your mistakes, instead of repeating them in new and varied ways.
You could try a little harder to be the person that you imagine yourself to be.
